CESA Provides REAL Protections for Joshua Trees!
We Were so Excited!
But then later in that same meeting,
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW)
Invokes (the rarely used) “Emergency Action“ for a list of 15 Solar Projects
Allowing them to bypass all Joshua Tree CESA Protections.
Aratina is on the top of that list!
Years of Joshua Tree Protection efforts were overidden in one meeting.
Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act (WJTCA)

Again, this sounded exciting,
But there was a reason they removed the word “Protections” from the Title
Because, WJTCA is simply a PAY-TO-PLAY Program
Which has NO ATHORITY TO SAY NO
TO ANY SOLAR PROJECT!
WJTCA refers to Joshua Tree “Transplanting”, “Re-Planting” & “Adoption”
As their strategy to Save Joshua Tree Forests.
But these methods have been tried for decades
and are PROVEN to be Ineffective for Joshua Trees.
The only “Proven” Method is to
NOT BULLDOZE THE FORESTS!
WJTCA is “Greenwashing” Deforestation FOR the Solar Industry.
NOTE TO CDFW:
Joshua Trees are not “Fish”,
You cannot spawn a new Joshua Tree Forest.
The Bottom-Line is that the Solar Industry
was given another pass to IGNORE ALL CESA Protections!
